Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. While it can be done without any equipment whatsoever, most climbers use climbing shoes to help secure footholds, chalk to keep their hands dry, and bouldering mats to prevent injuries from falls. Try it today! Bouldering Day Pass does not include access to ropes.

A belay device is a mechanical piece of climbing equipment used to control a rope during belaying. Belay devices act as a friction brake, so that when a climber falls with any slack in the rope, the fall is brought to a stop. It's designed to improve belay safety for the climber by allowing the belayer to arrest their fall with minimal effort.
Find the right climbing shoes for your specific goals. Beginners should select versatile shoes for all-around comfort. Our staff can help you pick out shoes as your goals and climbing styles develop.
Climbing harnesses have multiple functions, most importantly of which is safety. Our harnesses also feature loops that allow you to clip additional gear such as chalk bags into your harness for easy access.
Release Forms are required for all climbers and belayers. Whether you're climbing, doing yoga, working out, or just hanging out, we need a current release form on file for you. Children under the age of 18 must have the release of liability form signed by a parent or legal guardian. Our next excursion will take place at the Red River Gorge, a canyon system on the Red River in east-central Kentucky. Much of the Gorge is located inside Daniel Boone National Forest and has been subsequently reserved as the Red River Gorge Geological Area. It has been designated a National Natural Landmark and National Archaeological District, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Red River Gorge is a popular destination for rock climbers, with numerous cliffs in the gorge itself and in the surrounding areas. The vast number of bolted routes in overhanging, pocketed sandstone draws climbers from all over the world to "the Red" as it is known. Climbing in the region tends to be done at a large number of separate small cliffs. Most climbs are a single pitch and most cliffs are less than 200 feet (61 m) tall. There are numerous traditional and sport climbing routes in the region, although the latter seem to be more dominant.
